In an acute psychosocial crisis, it can feel as though the ground has fallen away beneath you. In those moments, you may need rapid orientation, steadiness and reliable support – without delay. Personal crisis support helps you stay capable of acting and making decisions in highly demanding situations. It can restore a sense of safety and protection – often the first conditions needed for noticeable relief.
How crises can build
Crises occurs in everyone’s life. It often develops during periods of sustained overload, too little rest, high demands on oneself, impending life changes or ongoing sleep problems. Common signs include inner restlessness, heightened tension, sleep difficulties, agitation, rumination, concentration problems as well as physical stress responses without any satisfactory medical findings. They often occur alongside relationship conflict, separation, overload at work or education, financial worries or medical diagnoses. During these times even a single additional factor is enough to tip the balance.
Crises are time-limited events and can be worked through. The most acute phase often lasts around 24-72 hours. With psychotherapeutic on-call availability, these particularly sensitive moments are supported with timely professional care.
Preventive care
Difficult times mostly arise suddenly in our lives. Sometimes, however, there are early signs that a challenging phase is developing. I can help you with recognising the signs of emerging distress and overload. Psychosocial support during demanding times can provide steadiness and reduce the risk of an acute crisis.
How I support you in a crisis
Immediate relief through acute support and restoring your ability to act – are the priorities. We clarify what matters most for you in the here and now, agree on practical arrangements for emergencies (reliable ways to reach me, brief response times, follow-up appointments), and plan manageable steps for the next 24-72 hours. If you are already a client, we draw on routines and strengths that have already proven helpful and support your ability to access them when it is needed. Once agreed, I will be available to you as per our agreement and adapt the scope and format of support to your situation.
The meaning of crisis support and psychotherapeutic on-call availability
Some life events are unpredictable and can happen at night, on weekends or during public holidays. Through crisis agreements made in advance, we can arrange extended contact options and psychotherapeutic on-call availability. This means that, within the time windows we agree together, I am available to you either in person or by telephone.
A key strength of psychotherapy is the continuous development of crisis management competence: we learn to recognise warning signs earlier, understand the dynamics of crises in a more forward looking way and respond sooner – effectively and meaningfully. We identify internal and external triggers as well as recurring patterns. In order to change unhelpful thinking or behavioural patterns and habits, we develop concrete strategies that promote stability and strengthen your ability to act during the acute phases.
My on-call psychotherapeutic service provides you with accessible safety, orientation and relief when you need it the most.
Availability and framework (only for clients)
This service is available exclusively to established clients. If a particularly demanding period is looming, we can discuss reserved time slots – blocked by the hour or by the day. During these agreed times, I offer reliable availability (by telephone with an immediate response within the agreed framework, online, in my practice or on-site).
We will set out the relevant conditions transparently in writing.
Important note
My crisis support service is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric emergency care. If there is an immediate risk to yours or someone else’s safety, please contact the emergency services on 144.
