Initial consultation
If you are interested in psychotherapeutic support, you are very welcome to arrange a non-binding initial consultation with me. This also gives you the opportunity to get to know me. After our first meeting, you can take as much time as you need to decide whether you would like to continue working together.
What does an initial consultation offer you?
- Support with overwhelming feelings: a chance to share what is weighing on you and talk about how you would like things to change.
- No-obligation setting: during the initial consultation you have the opportunity to describe your concerns and issues to me – without any commitment and free of charge.
- Clarifying goals and expectations: we clarify your expectations, what you would like to achieve and what matters the most to you right now.
- Tangible outcomes: what changes would feel noticeably helpful to you?
- Initial overview: together we create a first overview so that I am able to assess how I can support you.
- Open questions about psychotherapy: we can also cover any open questions and the practical arrangements around psychotherapy.
Well-being and Trust:
The purpose of the initial consultation is to find out whether you feel comfortable with me and whether we can establish a trusting therapeutic working relationship.
What does psychotherapy look like?
- Individualised course of therapy: Since every person is unique, each therapeutic process is tailored to you.
- Understanding your symptoms: At the beginning, we take time to understand together how your difficulties developed and why they persist.
- An approach that fits you: I adapt the therapeutic approach to your needs, with the aim of achieving the best possible outcome.
- Relief and everyday enjoyment: Early changes often include a noticeable sense of relief and a gradual return of interest and enjoyment in everyday activities.
- Working with deeper topics: Over time, we may also explore underlying areas such as relationships, work, stress or self-esteem.
- Desired change in life: Some of the most meaningful shifts happen in between sessions—when you begin applying new perspectives and strategies to the challenges that matter to you.
How the process might look for you
Psychotherapy is a structured yet flexible process. It often moves through overlapping phases in which change is supported and experienced. Topics may shift over time, become more current, or show up differently depending on your circumstances. I support you where you are, and in line with what you need right now.
- Orientation and relief: Making sense of what is going on, reducing acute pressure points and agreeing on manageable next steps
- Depth and development: Understanding patterns and connections, strengthening clarity in communication and in your ways of relating to yourself and others
- Transfer to everyday life: Noticing what helps and embedding it in routines (sleep, recovery, communication, coping strategies), making progress observable and verifiable
- Broadening your perspective: Refining goals, adjusting step size, ensuring impact and reviewing your needs
